The Jeff's Main System, built on a poor college students budget System
Last Update: April 02, 2002 at 00:11:26 IP Address:
Amplifier: Denon AVR-3802 110Watts x 7 Channels, DTS-ES Decoding, DDSC Digital
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 5's
CD Player/DAC: Denon DCM-370 w/ HDCD Decoding
Other Source(s): Apple I-Pod MP3 Player
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Speakers... Monster KP-HP Time correct 4.6m pairs

CD-AMP - Monster Datalink-100 Coax

IPOD-CD - Standard goldplated miniheadphone to stereo RCA patchcord

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Power - Monster Power Center HT800
Tweaks: Although my speakers are on a bookshelf, their somewhat isolated by partially inflated bicycle innertubes.
Room Size (LxWxH): 20' x 25' x 10'
Room Comments/Treatments: It's a dorm room for the time being...I have my entire life crammed in here, including a kitchen, desk area, couch, bed, av area, and closet...theres about a 10 square foot area of exposed floor..it sucks...but ill be moving soon
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): All, but mainly Acid Jazz, Techno, and Rock
System Goals/Comments: To have a great sounding, versatile system in my relatively budget pricerance
System Strengths: Lower cost (I managed to get my $1200list price reciever for $650 through SERIOUS haggling) I spent about $1500 for everything
System Weaknesses: Room Sucks, not enougth space to properly position everything, all teh cables are intertwined with all the other cables from my lights, computer, phone, tv, everthing else....ultra RF interferience, equiptment rack consists of 4 cans of corn supporting the cd player above the reciever, so the reciever doesnt overheat. Since everything i own is in this one room, alot of dust accumulates...i have to wipe downt my equipement everday...it sucks. Email me if you wanna see a picture of my ghetto-fabulous setup
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Daewoo 1990 21" mono POS
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: I use my VCR (JVC HR-A57U) as the tuner for tv, since it has stereo sound
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Same as above... Paradigm Monitor 5's
Sources (DVD/VCR): Vcr-JVC HR-A57U

DCD-Currently my POS compaq laptop computer...soon to buy a real dvd player

Comments on HT System: for now, i think it blows
