Amplifier: Don Allen (Phoenix, AZ) has constructed several amps for me over the past 5 years. The first is a Model 91 type amp running 328a into either 2A3 drivers or 300b. Uses Audio Note transformers. Second amps are PP Class A 2A3, also 328a front end, 6J5 splitter, Hammond output. Made on the bodies of two ancient theater amps that I bought from Antique Electronic Supply (originally had 6 2A3's in PP - Parallel). My third pair are PP 807's driven by 14F7 and out thru Acrosound 300's.

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Again, Don Allen pre built inside a GSI TP-5 case using loctal 14AF7 and 12AX7 in the photo stage. Has a seperate power supply which sits on the floor.
Speakers: First set is modeled after the Altec 620. Uses Eminence Gamma-Pro 15cx speakers. Painted Battle Ship grey. Built out of 3/4" MDF. Second set are still under construction. Cabinets are a little deeper than my other set, but is made of 2" thick MDF (two 1" sections glued and screwed together) to make an empty cabinet weighing 190lbs. Drivers are PAS 2560 cxl (2" throat) with PAS 2" horn driver. Third set is also under construction - Altec A5 cabinets - getting more bracing and new Eminence 15" drivers and undetermined HF drivers.

Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Bluegrass! Tony Rice, Dave Grissman Quintet. Also have a fondness for David Bromberg.
System Goals/Comments: Looking forward to building a pair of Western Electric Model 91b amps. My goal is to make them not only sound great, but also be dead ringers for the $15K originals.
System Strengths: It all fits in my house.
System Weaknesses: I'm no good at putting words to sound. I really enjoy this hobby, it all sounds good.
Video/HT System: Separate
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Built a pair of Altec 612 type cabinets- fitted with PAS coaxial speakers. Crossover built by Don Allen with silver wire in the choke.
