Room Comments/Treatments: ASC Tube Traps (16' rounds - 5 feet tall) in front corners. ASC Studio Traps centered symmetrically on either side of my equipment rack on front wall. Room is carpeted, contains a bed, some thin wall hangings
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Progressive, Rock, Berlin School Electronic
System Goals/Comments: Accuracy, Neutrality, Speed, Bandwidth, Transparency, Imaging/Soundstaging, Realism, Musicality, Emotional Involvement
System Strengths: Accurate and involving. System is very fast (electrostatic-like). Clean and transparent. Vocals and midrange are very realistic. Musical. Soundstaging is quite amazing (very spacious with excellent portrayal of depth and height) considering the limitations of the small room and acoustics. Imaging and image specificity are well rendered.
System Weaknesses: Room is not symmetrical (bathroom alcove present on one side wall); room is a little live (some flutter echo). Tube Traps have made a tremendous difference, and I utilize a long-wall near-field setup to mitigate any residual acoustical issues. System does not possess the ultimate in bass extension and slam.
