wirenut 's Main System System
Last Update: September 10, 2004 at 16:04:56 IP Address: 4.249.102.109
Amplifier: Krell KSA-150 (Bought it new in 1991, still love it. (I'm convinced it'll have to die in my rack before I get rid of it.) Several others have come and gone.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Krell KBL
Speakers: ProAc 2.5s; previously: Coincident Partail Eclipses, Maggie 1.6QRs, ProAc Response 2s, Vandersteen 2ces; a pair of the 'New Advent Loudspeakers,' made in Mass., in 1978.
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Krell SACD Standard, and an old Rotel RCD 855/Theta DS Pro Generation III combination.
Turntable/Phono Stage: None. Sold my Sota and Linn. (IMO, the Linn was the better table.)
Other Source(s): Rotel RHT-10 Tuner

Nakamichi CR-4A Tape Deck

Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Cardas Golden Cross spkr cables; Siltech (old pure silver) 4-120, 4-80, 4-56MKII; Cardas Golden Reference and Cardas Golden Cross interconnect; Omega Micro(8 yrs. old) and Theta digital cables.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): A very old Audio Power 'Power Wedge'

I have a wood and metal rack, don't remember the brand.

Tweaks: ProGold
Room Size (LxWxH): 13 ft x 12'6 x 9 ft
Room Comments/Treatments: None (I need some and I know it.)
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, Classical; Soul
System Goals/Comments: Sonic realism--high definition, imaging and bass; at all listening levels. I want to forget the spkrs are there; I love to read and doze while listing at very low volume (I'm an old man), and hear it all with pristine clarity.
System Strengths: It does most things very well and nothing too badly.
System Weaknesses: My room is much too small. It needs treatment(s) I'm sure, but I don't have enough space as it is.
Video/HT System: None
