| Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Jazz records: Bill Evans Trio, Dave B., Miles, Stan Getz, Mingus, Chet Baker. A lot of pop and alternative music. A lot of classical stored on hard disc. |
| System Goals/Comments: | mood changing and learning about music. Not to resort to watching television. |
| System Strengths: | not very "hifi" or pretty. Surprising resolution with little digital source as long as it is encoded with Apple Lossless. I don't miss the naim cd player at all. Analogue is even better. My whole family can play music with the computer! No one touches discs, and I am the only one who bothers with analogue. |
| System Weaknesses: | Doesn't play loudly, which is not really a bothersome thing. No remote. No exaggerated bass. Those are all modern things that adolescents want in a stereo system, or else it is not as valuable. I see these weaknesses as strengths, and find the absence of these items as a plus since the items absent are most of the time distractions and annoyances. |
