Tweaks: none; i'm not that insane...yet
Room Size (LxWxH): 20 x 10 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: it's a basement, but the benefit is the concrete floor (which makes turntable isolation simpler). i think the narrowness adds to overall focus, and limits the need to push the limits on volume (11:00 is concert level loud), but i can't help but think the slimness of the space is limiting soundstage. I'm a renter still, so these dimensions are subject to change every two years or so. as a result i'm not apt to make any dedicated changes based on the room dimensions.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): lots of traditional jazz, avante garde rock and pop, true country, and i'm starting to find myself mulling over the used bins of classical more and more
System Goals/Comments: this system was largely amassed from used components; not a great deal of consideration went into system synergy initially. comments from guest listeners indicate that i got "dumb lucky." i'm very pleased at this point and am spending more and more time shopping for source material.
System Strengths: extreme clarity top to bottom; excellent imaging. extremely musical, yet surprisingly analytical on some source material. strikes a really good balance based on my experience with other systems.
System Weaknesses: sometimes there is too much clarity; some of my source material (read: poor recording quality or intentionally lo-fi), which i have enjoyed through the course of my many previous lo-fi systems is simply unlistenable. (i take these recordings over to my girlfriend's house and listen to them on my hand-me-down system when necessary.)
Video/HT System: Integrated
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: wine/food, croquet, cycling;
