Room Comments/Treatments: Room is terribly small, but I have it heavily treated(commercial and Risch), giving me an intimate, rich sound that does not fatigue.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Alternative Rock: I like the older stuff, but I also like newer bands such as The Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket and Porcupine Tree. I have an addiction to jam bands like Phish (the very best American band of all time) and The Grateful Dead, and also like jazz (Davis, Monk, Hubbard, Turrentine, and many others), acoustic guitar, movie soundtracks--particularly Angelo Badalamenti--and some soundscapes, industrial, and gothic (Nine Inch, Dead Can Dance, Bass Communion, Sigur Ros).
System Goals/Comments: I shy away from "analytical" sounding gear. The Cary tube gear is highly engaging and musical and compliments the realism and detail of my source components well.
System Strengths: Warm, musical, and emotionally involving. Vocals are incredibly lifelike; highs are unfatiguing; bass is suprisingly solid.
System Weaknesses: Speakers do not have room to reach their full potential. However, if they did, I would most likely need a more powerful amp.
Video/HT System: None
