Mudjock's Basement System System

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Sim Audio Celeste P-4001SE
Speakers: Ellis Audio 1801A
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: HK HD-710, MSB Link II, Monarchy DIP 24/96
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Goertz Speaker Cables,

DH Labs BL-1 Homebrew Interconnect, Homegrown Audio Kit Silver Interconnect,

Heartland Cables Digital Interconnects
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Vansevers Super Companion
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Alternative, Jazz - particularly modern, A little classical.
System Goals/Comments: Small room system well suited to a wide range of musical styles.
System Strengths: The Stage and Celeste are refined enough to elicit high quality sound from the Ellis 1801's, but are at the same time beefy enough to wring out a decent amount of bass from these exceptional monitors. My total system cost is below $2k due to dillegent second-hand shopping and the willingness to dabble in DIY.
System Weaknesses: CD playback system doesn't look impressive. It sounds good for the $ invested, but is now probably the weak link
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Mistubishi 32" CRT
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Angstrom 100 Processor

Audio Dynamics B-200 Amplifier

Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Gallo Micros

NEAR Boom 2 Sub
Sources (DVD/VCR): Pioneer DV-440

Toshiba 6-head VCR
Other HT Gear: NAD 515 cd changer
Comments on HT System: Really cheap amplifier may be upgraded. It is a little bright, which works well for the Gallos. The NEAR subwoofer is fast enough to integrate with the Gallos at the required crossover frequency.
