Last Update: September 02, 2002 at 10:00:38 IP Address: 24.93.31.51
Amplifier: Yamaha M-65 Power amp
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Yamaha DSP-E492
Speakers: JBL C5 Olympus, Wharfedale w-80 Variflex for rears, Fisher XB as a temp Center.
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Sony SACD/DVD player
Turntable/Phono Stage: Thorens TD-124, Thorens 226.
Other Source(s): HiFi VCR, Tape deck, blah
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Monster Cable. 6 Gauge mains, 8 gauge rear, Kimber Cable Center.
Room Comments/Treatments: Vaulted Cieling (why I bought the place) African Wall hangings for refraction reduction on back wall and side walls.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): indie, classical, Jazz, Blues, Not much I don't like. No Country! No radio rock or MTV BS
System Goals/Comments: Rebuilding a Dynaco Tube amp with many upgrades for use with the M-65 in a biamp Tube/SS configuration
System Strengths: JBLs produce the most Trasient sound you will ever hear. Level of realism and accuracy is impressive
System Weaknesses: Very big. Hard to match vintage speakers in a HT setup but that's secondary to the music wich is why I have it. Center channel sucks in comparison.
Video/HT System: Separate
