Tweaks: | The Magnepans are hung from the ceiling (I have cats), in an arch, toed in slightly to face the 'sweet spot' What makes the most dramatic differece are the Lexicons. The 'panorama'effect produces greater width and depth to the sound and a feeling of enhansed spaciousness. The 'Ambiance Mode' generates early hall reflections and sends them to side speakers (Lexicon feels the side reflections are much more important to a sense of realism than rear hall sounds. They are right). Unfortunately one unit can not perform both Panorama and Ambiance at the same time. So I decided to try two units hooked together, each to it's appointed task. It works. With levels of the side speakers adjusted properly, the effect is thrilling. You are there. |
