System Goals/Comments: | Gradually get better, piece by piece, and see what some tube rolling with used, vintage tubes can bring me. |
System Strengths: | Both the Scott and Fisher are great vintage pieces. Can't decide which one is better. The Scott has a richer tone overall but the Fisher has a better bottom end and just a very impressive sound. Bugle Boy tubes - bought used and cheap - really are nice. So are the Tele's and the early 1960's GEs aren't too shabby either. |
System Weaknesses: | Fisher 500-C needs alignment (although I don't listen to FM much, so it doesn't matter.) The Scott 299(A) is in excellent shape, was professionaly restored - but needs more efficient speakers to really shine. A larger room would help too. |

Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | I work as an attorney in regulatory compliance for a small, independent life insurance company. Not as powerful as it sounds, trust me. :o) I follow the Iowa Hawkeyes (my alma mater) and enjoy checking out what the City of Chicago - my home - has to offer. |
