DLD's Dave's Habit System

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Yammy C-60

Fried Signature Series Q-3, sens. unknown
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Harmon Kardon CD 26 dual tray CD burner
Turntable/Phono Stage: Yamaha PF-800 with Denon DL-110 2.6 mv HO MC cartridge
Other Source(s): JVC cassette deck, TDW 209
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: 10 guage, oxy free generic speaker wire
Discwasher Gold-Ens, Monster Cable & AR interconnects, couple of Rat Shack Gold Plateds in the bird's nest as well
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Monster Cable Power Conditioner. 2' thick marble base for TT.
Room Size (LxWxH): 11 x 11 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: Small room stuffed to the gills with LPs, books, and Cds. Carpeted. Primarily an analog room, listen to LPs or copy to CD
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Folk rock, Rock, rockabilly, Alt. country, jazz, blues, brit invasion/60's, indie rock, pop rock
System Goals/Comments: eventually upgrade TT and cartridge ($1000 budget), sell Lux and get used separates ($1000 budget),
System Strengths: Wonderful, speakers (given their price points) . Both sets have good/very good imaging & detail retreival, w/solid bass.
System Weaknesses: Sound can be a little congested in the highs with music with lots of energy above 5k or therebouts. A much larger room would be a tremendous improvement . Seating is limited to off axis (comfortable seating that is). A blacker back ground for LP listening is my next step up, which would involve a truly modern hi end table. This Yammy is real good for its time tho
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: 32' Toshiba standard Def.
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Onkyo TXDS575, 70WPC, no S-Video pass thru:(
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): NHT Super Center, Athena F2s for mains, Velo CT100 sub, NHT Super 1s' rears
Sources (DVD/VCR): Samsung dual deck combo Hi Fi VCR and DVD
Sony SL 1200 Beta Hi Fi VCR
Other HT Gear: Dish receiver
Comments on HT System: Large room, 17'x22'x10' high. Running at a reference listening level of 54 (out of 70) this combination fills the room with near theater like levels. I'm very pleased and upgrades will be minor other than a hi def TV. I WILL get a new receiver with S-video input/output but it will be similar in quality to this unit. Oh yea, a new center channel speaker that would be a solid step up from the NHT super center is a must. Vocals could definitely be clearer (or my hearing could be better).
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Tennis, golf, fishing, movies, food/wine/travel
