Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Rock, old and new, Funk/R&B, Acoustic Jazz, Pop, Some Country (Cash, Hank Williams, Dwight Yoakum, Willie Nelson), Some Classical, mostly romantic era. |
System Goals/Comments: | I want to hear the details of the recording, and the expressiveness in the music, dynamics, micro and macro, and great rhythm. The Meters get a good bit of play on my turntable. I shouldn't be able to sit still when something like that is playing. I would like to improve image depth and spaciousness. The Parasound power amp was a big improvement, bass, reduced glare and grain. |
System Strengths: | Natural sound, good tonal balance. |
System Weaknesses: | Pretty happy with it. I don't fuss over it too much. |
Video/HT System: Separate | |
TV/Projector: | Panasonic 55" Plasma |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Small Denon |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | Magnepan MMGW, no center. Athena sub. Some Monoprice satellites on the floor in the back. |

Comments on HT System: | The Maggies are nice. Some of the best sounding speakers I've heard at any price, above 100hz. They go to 16k, which is high enough for my hearing. Very very natural sound, transparent. Need a better sub. |
