Neil E.'s one and only (please don't laugh) System
Last Update: April 03, 2000 at 20:48:59 IP Address: 208.3.223.143
Amplifier: NAD 7240PE Stereo reciever

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Polk RT-12 (bi-wired)
A couple of cheap ones from AudioSource that I occasionally use outdoors (creating another tripping hazard through the kitchen and garage)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Denon DCD-810 that is starting to show signs of weakness.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Technics SL-BD20 w/whatever cart. came with it (Audio-Technica)
Other Source(s): Sony TC-WR5990 dual cassette tape deck
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Several feet of RCA Home Theatre 16 gauge speaker wire form Wal-Mart. One pair of Monster Cable Interlink 250s for the CD player. Everything else is the cheap stuff that came in the box with the equipment.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Power conditioned by the folks at Pennsylvania Power & Light and delivered directly to my wall outlet. Rack is wobbly wooden structure requiring me to tread softly through the living room
Tweaks: Wires and cables are separated and insulated by spiderwebs and a heavy layer of dust.
Room Size (LxWxH): 13'-9 x 11' x 8'
Room Comments/Treatments: Misc. things to reflect/absorb all the wrong frequencies, and to trip over in the dark.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Grew up with your typical rock music in the '70s. Graduated to folk music with a minor (very minor) in blues and jazz. Trying to earn a degree in classical music.
System Goals/Comments: Goals: Bigger, Better, More
I am obviously not an audiophile, and don't pretend to be, but I do enjoy music. The Psychic Hotline tells me I have upgrades in my future.
System Strengths: It suits my needs for now.
System Weaknesses: It's not as good as I would like.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Mitsubishi 19" color TV that still works after all these years. Another little one in the bedroom for watching Leno, Letterman or Howard Stern before falling asleep.
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Can play the TV/VCR through the stereo for a simulated HT effect.
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): See above.
Sources (DVD/VCR): Quasar 4 head VCR with no special features to speak of.
Other HT Gear: More remotes than I can keep track of.

Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Kayaking, volleyball, hiking, reading. Finances that could be used for msuic and system upgrades are being blown on new kayak and replacing paddling gear. None of these darn hobbies are cheap.
