AMD Athalon64 3200+

300Gb SATA media drive
Coolermaster Praetorian Case with 4 80mm fans
Music ripped with Windows Media Player 9 Lossless compression.

M-Audio Audiophile Firewire soundcard (I went with firewire so I could put the DA converters on an isolated circuit and away from the noise of the computer psu. I do not use firewire buss powering)

Other Source(s): JVC TD-W209 tape deck
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: RS Audio Ilumne silver interconnects 1m

Speakers: Kimber 4TC.

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Dedicated circuit with ten guage wire terminated with a hospital grade outlet.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): 80s/90s rock, some progessive rock and metal (check out Dream Theater), modern jazz/blues (Chris Thomas King, Branford Marsalis, Diana Krall, ect.), and romantic and modern classical.
System Goals/Comments: I don't have a lot of room so having a compact system without racks of CDs is very convenient. My NAD/JVC part of the system is completely separate from my headphone system except for the computer (Soundblaster Live soundcard). It's nice to have this for when I'm using the Audiophile USB with another computer for recording.
System Strengths: Musical Bliss! The sound is very extended and dynamic with solid bass and low noise (this was helped a lot by the dedicated power). Playing music from the computer is extremely convenient and compact. My entire collection is arranged alphabetically by artist, album, genre, and many other possibilities. No more juggling CDs.
System Weaknesses: Could use more resolution. I'll probably upgrade the headphone cable to Cardas or build my own.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: I am a recoding engineer at a small project studio. I also do recording for the music department of my college. I play piano, organ, bass guitar, and some acoustic guitar. I also do a lot of aranging and composition.
