System Goals/Comments: | After hearing a coworkers vintage tube amp and audiophile turntable setup, I realized how much I missed the sound of vinyl. I want to acheive a smoother and more organic sound than seems to be available with modern equipment. To this end I am trying to piece together a warm, vibrant and musical system. I am willing to try just about anything in the mix, but I would love to have a Scott 299C as the heart of the system with a Thorens turntable/Grado cartridge supplying the music. |
System Strengths: | My 2240 receiver sounds and looks fantastic and the Klipsch RB-3 speakers present sounds and instruments I've never heard before in some of my favorite songs. The Pro-Ject 1.2 is so sweet...and a super deal at only $40cdn. |
System Weaknesses: | still don't have a tube amp...but looking |
