Music Preferences and Comments: | |
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Blues, Rock and Roll, but vinyl playback has recently opened me up to new genres with the availability and affordability of used vinyl. |
System Goals/Comments: | Short term goal is to find a good tube preamp with phono stage, or possibly a Mcintosh MX110 Tuner-preamp for a reasonable price in good shape, so I can get some tubes going in my system. Also looking for a better CD player than the Marantz, as the addition of Triangle Ittoh XS speakers is showing me the limits of my digital front end. |
System Strengths: | Sounds good to me considering the mishmash of components. I am sure it is not the most resolving system, but I enjoy it. |
System Weaknesses: | Not the quietest (but decent) preamp section on the Mac. Kimber 4VS probably not the last word in speaker cable, and MIT/Monster not the last word in ICs. Strange room shape and space constraints in a 1 bedroom apartment. |
