Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): opera, classical, jazz, '50s rock and pop
System Goals/Comments: Non-fatiguing musicality.
System Strengths: Depth, tonality, midrange, fine detail, retrieval of ambience, soundstaging, warmth, musicality. Highs and upper mids are stunning and seem to go on forever, almost to a fault.
System Weaknesses: Bass: loosey-goosey, and not too deep--just kind of 'there,' or sometimes not, though its integration with the rest of the frequency range is seamless, thanks to the full-range electrostatic panels; dynamics: limited by the speakers. MF DAC allows the system to play much louder on CD's without irritation. Update: the PS Audio xStream Statement IC (DAC-to-preamp) has transformed my CD playback. It restores the low end, and gives music the low frequency foundation it needs. Not recommended for a dark-sounding system, but for me it does exactly what I'd hoped it would do. Bravo!

Sony KDL-32s2000 LCD flat-panel TV
