Fushimi's Lost Job soon after starting System
Last Update: June 29, 2003 at 19:02:01 IP Address: 24.193.3.101
Amplifier: Arcam A-85
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): none
Speakers: Siefert Research bookshelf speakers (asked once before, but any information on these would be appreciated)
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Denon multi-changer
Other Source(s): I use my old Harmon-Kardon receiver's tuner section. WQXR comes in very well which is the most important thing.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: I would be deservedly shot by many on this board if I revealed the cr-p I am using.(need to get off my a-- and make some decent DIY stuff).
Room Comments/Treatments: Ha! When my wife is not around I do drag the speakers into the middle of the room for near field listening. (Actually, it's not so much the WAF thing as the lack of anyplace to walk if they are where I want them to be).
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Wife: opera! and classical. Me: Classic rock, Celtic music, folk rock, Japanese drums, jazz and Senagalese pop.
System Goals/Comments: When I went listening last year I felt that those systems with the smooth midrange/high end grabbed and kept my attention (at least until I put the Japanese taiko albums on).
System Strengths: I am very content with my amp. The speakers, a gift from a friend, were definitely priced right. My celtic music and other stuff that stays out of the bottom 3 or so octaves is fairly musical.
System Weaknesses: Everything else. I really need to get a respectable CD player.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: 27 inch JVC
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Teac Reference 130 office system
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Teac Reference 130 speakers
Sources (DVD/VCR): DVD from computer to tv through Radeon AIW 8500 card
Comments on HT System: Honestly, this is more than sufficient.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: computers, scuba, visiting NY art galleries, photography, science fiction, good beer.
