Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Custom made stereo preamp made in London 1961
powered by amp, uses four EF86 tubes
Speakers: KEF Q90, 89DB sensitivity

CD Player/DAC: An old Luxman DZ 121 Will be upgraded.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Garrard 301 Schedule 2 (oil bearing), SME 3012R homemade plinth, Grado Statement Sonata
Other Source(s): Dual 1019 (for 78s) Grado 78E cartrige Grado mono elliptical cart (for the Garrard/3012)
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Old Audioquest speaker cables, SME phono cables, silver wire coax orig. to amp/pre
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): A step up transformer supplies power to everything including the turntables.
Tweaks: New caps in the amp/preamp, NOS Tubes, New bearings in the Garrard, my poplar plinth
Room Size (LxWxH): 22ft x 15ft x 12ft
Room Comments/Treatments: old plaster walls are the best, antique (18th century) winsor chair in listening spot

Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz and Classical from original pressing or audiophile vinyl or early shellac 78s
System Goals/Comments: To upgrade my plinth to solid cherry and my speakers to Tannoy Monitor Golds
System Strengths: lots of detail, the biggest soundstage I've ever heard, deep accurate bass
System Weaknesses: very revealing of setup flaws, the treble can be a bit bright, improves as I tweak
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: furniture conservator, historic preservation grant writer, erstwhile musician, woodcarver
