Amplifier: Audionote (UK) Conqueror - 8 watt single-ended Class A, no feedback, triode stereo amplifier, valve rectifier choke power supply, 2 x 300B (Sofia Mesh Plate, golden dragon/AN), 2 x 6SN7 (rca-NOS), 1 x 5U4G (RCA-NOS).
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Audionote M2 line preamp with RCA 12au7 cleartop, DIY passive attenuator, restored dynaco pas-3 (phono stage) with telefunken 12AX7, NOS step up transformer from US Navy
Speakers: Silverline Sonatina I - Avalon inspired - 93 db, 7 ohms minimum impedance, very SET-friendly, and relatively high wife acceptance factor

Music Used (Genre/Selections): Eclectic: From Big Band Jazz (basie, ellington in vinyl- still collecting, though), to 80s rock: Elvis Costello, The Clash, Joe Jackson. to Pop: The Style Council, Sting, early-Diana Krall
System Goals/Comments: to avoid "Audio Hell" as illustrated by AN UK's Peter Q
System Strengths: sweet enough for me
System Weaknesses: digital front end is below average. tonal quality of speakers not as good as my dream speakers. vintage phono stage needs to be upgraded to one that can handle wider dynamic range. interconnects sound too bright and can be edgy at times.

hope i can afford a better cartridge in the future.
