| Room Comments/Treatments: | Heavy drapes and pads behind speakers, pads in room corners on floor and at primary side reflection points, book shelf, cat tree, three chairs, coffee table, area rug between speakers and listeners, listener seating consists of daybed with water mattress, and heavy quilt down to the floor on front and back, and big soft pillows.

| Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Almost anything that shows talent, creativity, and hopefully has quality recording -- special interest in simple live recordings & local artists whom I can see perform |
| System Goals/Comments: | Enjoyment, Pleasure, Virtual Reality -- transport me to the performance. Simple, relatively low cost, handle many digital sources, use computer as primary source for recordings with jukebox capabilities. Immunity from digital source and digital cable quality as well as no need for digital tweeks (Benchmark Media DAC1 provides this). Boycott SACD & DVD-A that don't allow computer jukebox or portable player use. |
| System Strengths: | Excellent dynamics, full bodied yet good detail, well balanced, wide/deep stage when appropriate with good front to back depth, good localization and focus of individual voices and instruments, good instrumental and voice character, handles difficult or complex recordings pretty well now. Lots of improvement -- especially high frequencies have improved tremendously -- with recent ERS treatments, HCA-2 mods, and improved AC power conditioning. |
| System Weaknesses: | Ultimate resolution, detail, smoothness, purity, refinement. Still too dependent upon power-line quality. Low Bass -- although often surprises me. Limited to 16 bit/44 kHz recordings until get better sound card for computer. Still have long list of tweaks and upgrades yet to try.
