Amplifier: Two DIY stereo power amps based on Hypex's UcD180 modules: 180W/4 Ohm; class D amps for the 'active' secondary system.
Monarchy Audio SE100 Deluxe Monoblocks (MOSFET Class A; 100Watt/8ohm-200Watt/4ohm) for the 'passive' system.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): DIY Transformer based Volume Control-TVC- with S&B TX102 MKIII OCC transformers (goto bentaudio.com)
Behringer active analog CX as preamp in 'active bi-amp' secondary system.


Speakers: Tannoy Definition D-500 (polipropilene 8''Dual concentrics plus 8'' bass units; 91dB/2.8V/m-6ohm)
Secondary system: active bi-amp with Paradigm Monitor3 and two DIY Kappa 15A Eminence Woofers (140 lts box' volume).

Room Size (LxWxH): 7 m x 3.3m x 2.4m
Room Comments/Treatments: All concrete room (awful sounding), so had to make: DIY 'quick and dirty' recipe tube Bass Traps, on corners. DIY Panel Bass Traps, on front/back walls. DIY 'room lens'. Now it sounds 'decent'
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Almost only Classical: symphonic (Shostakovich; Beethoven; Bruckner, etc); more and more chamber music (Brahms; Beethoven; Vivaldi; Bartok); Opera (Wagner; some Verdi; I'm very fond of historic recordings).
System Goals/Comments: Trying to rich an emotionally moving and also a very transparent system (at the least cost possible) and forget about components. Comming: Quantum AC products; more Bybees. Change transport.
System Strengths: Sweet and detailed, un-digital sounding (reminiscent of tubes). Great imaging/soundstage. Good instrument separation. Great dynamics and agility.
System Weaknesses: Noise allways can be lower, as a principle.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Antique cars. Sports: volley-ball. Amateur opera singer. Would love to learn electronics and DIY components. Maybe someday...
