Room Size (LxWxH): 10 x 12 x 8
Room Comments/Treatments: short hair carpet on hard wood
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Rock, Techno, Classical, Jazz, Opera. Anything except country music.
System Goals/Comments: Still trying different interconnects. I might try another power conditioner or Powervar and acoustic absortion panels.
System Strengths: This is the most enjoyable and balanced system I've had. The Cayin has added a new level of clarity, detail and speed compared to the NAD C370 I once had. The E5 CDP is miles ahead of the NAD C541i it replaces in detail retrieval, soudstage and smooth grain free highs.
System Weaknesses: A few minor annoyances. The highs are slightly bright and I'm trying to tame that. There is a barely audible buzz through the tweeters that the Brickwall can't kill. The binding posts on the speakers are really cheap and the plastic nut strips easily. I'm contemplating changing them to WBT.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: JVC AV-20F475 flat screen TV. this TV could have better corner distortion correction but its image clarity and color accuracy is excellent.
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Harman/Kardon 690i vintage receiver for small stereo HT setup.
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Polk RT35i
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba SD-3950
Other HT Gear: V3DFX box, Flexygy speaker cables, Outlaw PCA interconnects, Ultralink component cable and Bright Star isonodes for DVD.
Comments on HT System: Except for the TV, all the home theater components were bought second hand. Very inexpensive, good sounding system for a small room.
