System Goals/Comments: | Easy to listen to sound, but still with the ability to shake the foundation when I want to. |
System Strengths: | Great for big rooms; the Jensens shine at high volume. The sub can be tuned for good musical quality, or outright power. The reciever is also excellent; great FM tuner. The bass, when dialed, in, is present without being distracting, and makes it fun to pick out the intracacies of the bass line of a good song. |
System Weaknesses: | Compared to my dad's Marantz amp and 4 speaker setup, my rig requires some high-frequency fiddling to achieve the vocal clarity I want. This unfortunately leads to harshness from time to time. And of course, the natural shortcomings of a $220 retail subwoofer. (ebayed for $150). |
