Amplifier: | Atma-Sphere MA1 MKIII, my reference for ~15years "Hafler" Musical Concepts 500 Ultra build 255wpc++ "Hafler" 280/220 175/115wpc At times Radically restored / rebuilt / modified Adcom GFA545II - - - Same effortless familial sound *Atma-Sphere M60 Mk2 II (60w) (fully optioned) modest power simply awesome amps! Jeff Rowland Model 501s (500 wpc) I was an early adopter of this technology Or for non OTL, Audio Research VT200 200 wpc., a load tolerant beast *solid state like character. |
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): | Atma-Sphere MP1 Mk2 II (fully optioned) ALL Caddock resistors, all Teflon caps in the signal path. A 96 Caddock resistor loaded, very $$$ volume pot, balanced output only. Hafler based MM110: DC coupled, re-worked RIAA, removed protection / muting circuit, HEXFRED rectifiers, ALL Nichicon MUSE throughout, every single electrolytic is bypassed. The entire P/S has decaded film bypasses. *radical power supply work. Super fast with out sounding mechanical. Wicked Dynamic. Jeff Rowland Capri w/DAC |
Speakers: | Harbeth M30.2, 87db sens. (mind blowing speakers) Classic BBC LS5/9 derived, voiced neutral and very flat. The Roger LS5/9 was one of the most fun to listen to speakers. The 30.2 out-preform my memories of Quad ESL63 and the LS5/9, I used for 10 years along side them... Silverline SR17 Supreme 91db sens.(has been my main speaker) a defacto standard as a reference tool, for evaluation and building. It will take any amount of power, be uncomfortable to listen before over load. Sold: 'honorable mention' Revel Studios with Revel S30 subwoofer (Studios 87db) unbelievable set-up! At times . . . for fun 'reference worthy' - amazing! *Silverline Audio SR17 Supreme (91db) *fabulous in booth systems Occasionally Quad ESL-57s Atma-Sphere M-60mkII mono blocks running on 6 tubes Or Quicksilver MM amps. |
