Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Jazz, Rock, Classical |
System Goals/Comments: | Less hi-fi, more emotion. |
System Strengths: | Spectral amps + ESL = magic |
System Weaknesses: | The two channel rig has the dynamic limits of typical high-end systems based on less than high efficiency speakers. The video rig needs the video side updated for HDTV resolutions, slow to do it because so many digital TVs look like crap compared to my analog Marantz. |
Video/HT System: Separate | |
TV/Projector: | Marantz 65" RPTV |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Parasound AVC-1800 DD/DTS decoder/controller, self built 2A3 SET amps for the JBLs and an old Hafler DH-500 (my first DIY kit) on the rears. |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | JBL B39 (self designed & built using 70's vintage 15" coax alnico drivers), various ACG oneZ and R&D designs. REL sub. |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | Sony DVP-NS900 extensively modified, Sony VCR (for timeshifting soon to be replaced with HTPC) |
