TubeHeadSeth's Master Bedroom System
Last Update: October 14, 2006 at 13:21:31 IP Address: 70.194.180.246
Amplifier: Threshold SA/2 Stasis class A monoblocks with optical bias. One of Nelson Pass's greatest classic designs
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Audible Illusions Modulus 3a dual-mono tube-hybrid.

Researching for suitable surround processor- system currently only two channel.

Speakers: Martin Logan Aeon fronts, ML Cinema center, nEar 05 self-amplified monitor surrounds.
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Samsung universal DVI-SACD/CD/DVD/DVD-A, etc. Stop-gap player, but researching.
Turntable/Phono Stage: Can tie into 'low-power class a room' through wall to use that turntable, if needed.
Other Source(s): Luxman T-450 'Lux-lock' tuner

Comcast digital music service-surprisingly good

Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Alternating- Coincident TRS, funky older 'name-unknown' pair.

PS Audio xStream Statement bi-wire cabling

Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Richard Gray Power Co. RGPC 400 MK II

'Rack' consists of an ancient carved mahogany column segment with carved Corinthian cap and marble shelf.

Tweaks: All cabling is held off floor by custom mahogany risers. Monoblocks are on bamboo platforms with ceramic feet (Upside-down chips & dip tray if you can believe it!)
Room Size (LxWxH): 16' x 18' x 8'
Room Comments/Treatments: None yet. Still testing.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, 60's, 70's, 80's, electronica, ambient, Bach harpsichord, and movies of course
System Goals/Comments: To have a great-sounding system that plays two-channel music as well as integrating with the theater display/surround system without compromising the sound of either. All from bed.
System Strengths: Plays any music soft or loud equally well- effortlessly and without strain, harshness, looseness or listener fatigue. Threshold SA/2 Stasis amps are 20 years old but IMO have very few competitors. And also sounds great as a surround theater system.
System Weaknesses: Two-channel A.I.M.3a preamp has no remote.
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Fujitsu 55-inch plasma hanging from rolling track on ceiling. DVI-Integrated with laptop as monitor
