Room Comments/Treatments: GIK panels at 1st reflection points and on front and back wall corners
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): acoustic jazz, soft jazz, prog rock, soft rock, assorted classical
System Goals/Comments: to get decent sound in a room that has its bad points in terms of furniture placement and the wife factor
System Strengths: natural timbre, musical, transparent with great soundstaging, dynamic, good PRAT, no fatigue from CD or vinyl, the speakers truly disappear
System Weaknesses: The Apogees are probably the most dynamic panel I have heard, but it still doesn;t have quite the kick of a great full-range cone speaker.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Panasonic plasma monitor
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Kenwood VR6060
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): 3 pair of AR 215PS (5.1)
Parts Express 10' sub
Sources (DVD/VCR): Sony DVD/CD carousel
Other HT Gear: variety of IC's (all my failed experiments from the main system)
Comments on HT System: In the living room, exclusively for movies, but the sound is rather excellent for the cost (@ $700 total)
