Last Update: January 03, 2005 at 09:02:18 IP Address: 65.24.249.49
Amplifier: AES Superamp DJH w/ NOS Amperex EL-34, Tung Sol 6550 Blackplate, MUllard EL-37, or Sylvania 8417 power tubes and all NOS 6922 driver and EL-84 input tubes. Shunyata King Cobra V2 power cord
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Melos Maestro w/ all caps upgraded to Auricaps and the MOSFETs removed for the all-tube upgrade by Melos Audio Restoration in Vegas winter of 2003. Omega Mikro Active RED power cord
Speakers: Silverline Sonatina *Avalon* style speakers setting on granite blocks w/ Maplshade brass cones underneath and Ebony wood b/w the cone points and granite blocks
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Audio Note CDT-2 transport setting on Polycrystal shelf and Walker Audio Ultimate brass triple point cones. Omega Mikro's best Ebony Planar digital cable leading to an AudioMeca Enkianthus DAC II.X using symposium rollerblocks and both DAC and transport using Omega MIkro Active power cords
Turntable/Phono Stage: n/a
Other Source(s): n/a
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: SC's are Omega Mikro's latest (2004)Planar Silver Active cables leading into Bybee Ultimate speaker filters on both top and bottom posts w/ Walker Audio High Definition Links on top posts also. From DAC to pre using Omega Mikro Ebony Active interconnects (older tube style using 56 GA. wire). From Pre to amp using Nordost Valhalla RCA ICs or sometimes Audio Magic Clairvoyant 4-D. Getting ready to try RSA Poiema here too and old reference was original Pure Note Epsilon. Never had anything buy Ebony from DAC to pre though!
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Audio Magic Stealth feed from dedicated line w/ Acme Silver Cryo outlet by Elrod EPS-3 signature PC and Quantum paralell line filters in various outlets around the house
Tweaks: Lots of Shakti Stones walker tuning discs, ERS sheets Herbie Tube Dampers, Symposium, DH Cones, Orchid Bay, Maleshade, and Walker Audio cones. Bass traps tweaks around room in corners and behind speakers.
Room Size (LxWxH): 12 x 15 x 8
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Female accoustic, alternative rock, classic rock and some jazz
System Goals/Comments: always trying to get that *you are at a live performance* feeling of transparency and front row soundstage emphasis
System Strengths: Great midrange vocal clarity w/ huge center-fill realism and very accurate accoustic reproduction.
System Weaknesses: Due to room size could use a little more soundstage depth and w/ only 35 wpc I sometimes think a litle more bass whack! would be nice, that is why I sometimes swap out the power tubes and the Valhalla ICS for the Clairvoyant 4-D.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: JVC
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Denon 4800
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Infinity
Sources (DVD/VCR): Pioneer tweaked DVD-525
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: sports cars, weight lifting and running.
