Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Good music is good music regardless of the genre, so I'll listen to just about anything, but my faves are - Heavy Metal, blues, classical, alternative country, alt, reggae, rap, classic rock, punk.
System Goals/Comments: I'd like my system to be versatile enough to play just about any genre of music, in a non-fatiguing, transparent and well-paced manner...at a reasonable cost, of course. It also must ROCK HARD on command!
System Strengths: It makes beautiful music.
System Weaknesses: Not a headphone jack in sight. It's hard to keep the volume down at night!
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: RCA 27'
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: McIntosh MC-162 amp, Pass Labs X-2 pre-amp. Comcast digital cable box.
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): NHT 2.5
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba SD-3960
Other HT Gear: Acoustic Research 6 ft. audio IC and video IC. Signal Cable Ultra speaker wire.
Comments on HT System: It's mostly for my stunningly fabulous 5-yr. old daughter to watch dvds on. It's overkill really, for a 2-channel HT system. The picture actually looks sharper since plugging it in to the HTPS 7000. The Toshiba makes a decent backup cdp as well JIC.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: interests: music, sports, movies, reading, photography, travel...oh yes, and parenting! Occupation: techie (freelance), academic admissions administrator (f/t). Great love affairs of my life: The Niners, SF Giants, and the Boston Bruins.
