Room Comments/Treatments: | Asymetrical shaped room has cement floor (carpeted), unpainted course concrete walled structure, interior surfaces are hardbord panel 1/4" thick with roofing felt backing, mounted over a 2" air gap. Surfaces strategically treated with 4" Sonex and Tube Traps. Room treatment tuned using TEF analysis. Not a completely dead room, but instead early reflections at listening positions reduced to minimum at full bandwidth. |
Music Preferences and Comments:
|
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Nearly anything except Country. It's just not my cup of tea. |
System Goals/Comments: | Room considered part of system. Designed to accomodate a modest priced system, and reap the maximum from it. Room also will accomodate upgrades of any level in the future. A work in progress. |
System Strengths: | Overal good balance in most parameters. Wide and deep soundstage. Excellent noise floor (low levels, both from external sources and system noise) |
System Weaknesses: | Imaging could be more focused. More power needed(due to room size). Some standing waves present at lower frequencies. |
Video/HT System:
None |
