Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Lots of jazz (Miles, Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, MJQ, Monk, Charles Mingus etc etc etc), some rock (eg Los Lobos, Dylan, Beatles), funky stuff (Meters/Nevilles etc), assorted classical (Ravel, Bach....) |
System Goals/Comments: | Looking for elusive balance between "PRAT" qualities and transparency, soundstage and all that stuff. |
System Strengths: | Highly controlled, bags of power, rich controlled bass on right recordings, midrange transparency, good imaging, never sounds harsh. |
System Weaknesses: | It's a stereo system, is more "round earth" than "flat earth" - lacks some dynamic capacity, room has limitations - inadequate treble - want new speakers soon!!! |
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: | Sony Wega 68cm |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | as above |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | n/a |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | Panasonic DVD-A360A |
Comments on HT System: | Don't care about it really - only 2 channel and it works! |
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | Life beyond audio is work, guitar player with too many guitars gathering dust and not enough time - occasional photographer (35mm). Father of 3 year old who likes the Beatles and knows the names of some of Miles Davis\'s quintet! |
