Amplifier: AE-25 'Superamp' monoblocks - I'm remodeling the house and currently my setup is no longer in a dedicated room. Not fair to evaluate these in a temporary room setup, but so far they sound nice. They will give me the opportunity to tube roll sometime soon. Will be adding a pair of Genelex Gold Lion KT88 reissues to see if things improve.

My Proceed AMP2...Very clean sound, detailed, a bit laid back in the midrange. It sure does pump out alot of clean, undistorted sound.

Rotel RB-981 - Good starter amp for my entry into the world of high end audio. Lots of kick to it and has the 'slap in the face' sound that I like. Somewhat rough around the edges sound. Not clean and detailed enough compared to the Proceed.

Just sold my CJ Sonographe SA250...Now I want to buy an N.E.W. A-60 amp or bi-amp with A-20.1. The hunt for better sound never ceases!

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): N.E.W. P-3 preamplifier - Very nice sound and two sets of outputs to make bi-amping very easy. Able to tube roll as well.

Sonic Frontiers SFP-1 phono stage. - Awfully nice...I'm not selling this one anytime soon. Very sweet sound and fun to tube roll. However, I will be synergizing my system with th N.E.W. LP-3 phono stage soon. It will be a dog fight to see which is the better sounding stage. Top dog stays.

Speakers: Tyler Linbrooks - Got these for a sweet deal (thanks John) after I sold my B&W N805s. I like the richness of sound, a bit less detailed than the B&Ws but the low end is alot fuller. More to come on these as I listen to them.

NHT subwoofer to round out the bottom end.

Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Rotel RCD-975 - Will either tweak this as much as I can to get a better sound or simply upgrade some day. I'm getting to be a vinyl junkie so I will be investing more into that front end moreso than digital.
Turntable/Phono Stage: VPI HW-19 Jr, Sonic Frontiers SFP-1

RB-300 arm

Dynavector DV-10x4 high output MC cartridge. Will upgrade as able here. Platter, cartridge etc. as I'm able.

Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: DH Labs T-14 spkr cables (biwired-a nice bit of difference it has made in depth and spaciousness of the sound) and DHLabs BL-1 interconnects.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Sennheiser HD600 headphones coupled with the 'Little Dot II' tube headphone amp. Very nice sound for so little $$$.
Tweaks: I'm going to add sand bags, blue-tac, innertubes, straws, paper-clips and a few pieces of duct tape to everything thats not nailed down.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, classical, classic rock, fusion. The more accoustic I can listen to, the better. I like live performances as well.
System Goals/Comments: As a performing musician (trumpet) I'm used to playing in all types and sizes of live groups. My system needs to sound as close to "in your face" and "live, not memorex" as I can get without breaking the bank.
System Strengths: clean, crisp sound...accurate. Getting a deeper and wider soundstage as I enhance and build upon it.
System Weaknesses: As I say above, I'm surrounded by the real thing when I'm performing so my ear wants to hear the real thing when I'm listening at home. My modest system will not come close to 'live', but I am starting to enjoy my system more, listening to the music and not the components (which is a hell of alot of fun as well).
Video/HT System: None
