Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Every kind. Mostly original '50s and '60s French classical pressings, especially solo and accompanied piano. Also '60s psychedelic and pop, UK folk and folk rock, Blue Notes, Prestiges, Mingus, Brit jazz, Latin jazz and salsa, classical orchestral and opera, chamber music, piano, organ, alternative rock, hardcore punk, DIY singles from late '70s UK, early '70s boogie rock, heavy metal... some traditional vocal pop from the '40s through '70s. Transcriptions of '20s-'40s ethnic music '78s. Hip hop. Techno, house and trance. These days, tons of oriignal African 45s and LPs from the '60s and '70s, especially from Benin, Ghana and Nigeria, but also from Ethiopia, the Congo and South Africa. Basically everything
System Goals/Comments: I want an effortless, musical sound that still has crispness in the treble and tautness in the bass. Weight, authority and presence are big goals of mine -- and I have these along with incredible sweetness in the human voice.
System Strengths: I kind of think I've gotten there.
System Weaknesses: Probably not the ultimate rock-out system, but I have no need to address that until I get new neighbors.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Collecting records, books and art. Shopping. Gardening. Cooking and fine wines.
