System Goals/Comments: | Natural sound reproduction in small room. Monarchy Audio tube DAC was big improvement over SB2 analog. Coaxial (maybe) a bit better than glass-fiber optical |
System Strengths: | Soundstage and imaging, natural timbres, smoothness. Monarchy is first-row immediate, with all the tube goodies and none of the bad. Dynamics and ambience have increased thanks to MFW-15 subwoofers |
System Weaknesses: | Lack of extension to 20Hz probably due to room. Some irregularities but bass is surprisingly even to 40Hz. Nearfield listening because of small room |
Video/HT System: None |
