Amplifier: Homebrew 12SL7/1626 SET
12SL7, NIMH cathode battery bias
1626, grid battery bias at -27 V, 265 V on plate
PS: 6CA4 rectifiers, voltage doubler, RC filtering
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): None
Speakers: Bose 601 Series III
(I was going to Ebay these for a friend and was surprised at how good they sound, so I kept them.)
2 of the Dayton $100 subwoofers run in stereo
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Toshiba 3960 with various power supply mods and the 'Swenson Mod' (grabbing the signal form the DAC and bypassing the buffer stage).
Turntable/Phono Stage: out of commission
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Magnet wire, tightly twisted for speaker cables
CAT 5e for interconnects
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): EMI/RFI filter on CD player

System Goals/Comments: Good sound on a budget
From here I want to move up to horn speakers and build a No-C version of my current amplifier
System Strengths: Clarity
Soundstaging
Musicality
Naturalness
System Weaknesses: Marginal microdynamics
Uneven bass response (issue with WAF and subwoofer positioning)
Musicians aren't quite "in the room" (but pretty close)
No vinyl
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Sony 46 inch RPTV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Same
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Same
