| Tweaks: | ballbearings (liberated from my sons 'knex') used as isolators set in the hole of the feet of the CD player, seems to work quite well, tighter sound at high volume. I also use 2 x large pieces of polystyrene sheet to create an artificial rear wall with speakers pulled 1m or so into room this seems to really focus things, when its not there things seem to go all over the place.(i'm only allowed these out after hours when i'm alone with the music, best time) |

| System Goals/Comments: | upgrade everything during coming year, possibly tube amp, kit speakers and new CD player (possibly chinese import - Esound E5 or Shanling - any opinions?) i'm also really interested in the magnepan MMG's availble direct from the states loads of reviews on them and all seem really good, but I have reservations about their ability to rock which I still require occasionally, may also put tube amp out of the equation, Find a nice used turntable haven't had one for years. |
| System Strengths: | probably CD player will be last upgrade - just can't live with these speakers any more, although concerned about matching planned upgrades to present source and them not 'fitting' when I come to replace it. |

| Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | criminal defence solicitor, no time for other hobbies other than;listening to music, spending time with family, occasional live lusic, halle, odd gig (very odd nowadays) pretty much on my way to being boring old guy. |
