Kris's Evolved System
Last Update: June 11, 2001 at 11:32:34 IP Address: 213.89.157.208
Amplifier: Gryphon Callisto 2100.

100 Wpc @ 8Ohms

Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): none
Speakers: ProAc Response 2.5

84 dB sens.

Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Sony SCD-777ES
Turntable/Phono Stage: The TT and LPs are stacked away bacause of lack or space. It makes me cry every time I look att the boxes of some 1k LPs.
Other Source(s): Denon RDS Tuner. Listen to this maybe an hour a week, no more.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Kimber 4/8TC, HT Pro-Silway MkII
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Soundstyle rack. It looks nice and is very stable, but I wish the shelves were adjustable.
Tweaks: Tweaks? I hate tweaking! Which is why I don't use tubed gear with the ProAcs...
Room Size (LxWxH): 4.7m x 4.1m x 2.7m
Room Comments/Treatments: Almost square! What can I say...sucks. Someday I'm gonna build some of Risch's tube traps. I suffer from the lazy man's syndrome so who knows when that will happen :) Due to the small size of the apartment, the listening room is just packed with books and stuff, which works out pretty well, he he.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Hmmm...everything except hip-hop, techno, rap, whining country, and opera. Primarily blues and jazz though.
System Goals/Comments: The best compromise I can get between detail, soundstage and tonality
System Strengths: Great detail and soundstage width. Low mids and upwards are excellent.
System Weaknesses: Boomy bass, soundstage depth. Not enough space for proper distance between speakers and rear wall. Also, a 32" widescreen TV sits slightly behind and between the speakers. I know, not very good but its all a compromise.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: JVC 32" Widescreen TV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Boston Acoustics DigitalTheater 6000 kit
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Boston Acoustics DigitalTheater 6000 kit
Sources (DVD/VCR): DVD: Sony DVP-S7700

VCR: JVC HR-S8500 SVHS deck

Comments on HT System: The most basic system I could find.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Occupation: B2B Integration Systems ArchitectHobbies: Audio, Guitar playing, Music composition and recording (home studio), Computer games, Astronomy, Physics, Acoustics.
