Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): I listen to the following genres, in the following order:

1) Classic Rock & Classic R&B/Soul

2) Classical Music (chamber & orchestral, some Baroque and Modern, mostly Romantic Era)

3) Jazz (some contemporary and Dixie Land, mostly Bee-Bop)

NOTE: My library includes 3,000+ LPs and 6,500+ CDs

System Goals/Comments: Currently upgtrading. Remaining upgrades include the following (in this order):

1) 5.1 Surround System Speakers

2) Audio/Video Furniture

3) 42' - 50' Plasma or DLP (or similar rear projection) display

System Strengths: * Vandersteen 2Ce Speakers

* Audible Illusions Modulus 3A Stereo preamplifier

* Rotel RB-980BX Amplifiers

* Pioneer 74TXVi Receiver (140wpc)

* Pioneer DV-79AVi Universal Disc Player

System Weaknesses: * Surround Speaker System

* Interconnects and Speaker Cable

Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: Sharp 37' CRT Television. Just a simple, mass-market, nothing-special model with a remarkably good picture. Looking to upgrade this year to a 42' - 50' Plasma or DLP
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: * Pioneer 74TXVi Receiver (140wpc)

* 3 Rotel RB-980BX Amplifiers

Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): * Using Vandersteen 2Ce Speakers as my front left/Right

* Using Mission 760i Bookshelf Stereo Speakers as my surrounds

* Using Wharfedale Moviestar 70+ Surround Speakers for Center Speaker and Sub only

NOTE: CURRENTLY SHOPPING TO REPLACE THIS MESS OF A SURROUND SPEAKER SYSTEM

Sources (DVD/VCR): * Panasonic PV-8664 VHS Recorder

* Pioneer DV-79AVi Universal Disc Player

* Sony DVP-CX995V 400-Disc CD/DVD/SACD Jukebox

* Time/Warner Digital Cable Box (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000)

* Toshiba SD-2109 DVD Player (in storage, my first DVD Player)

Comments on HT System: I built my first HT System 2 1/2 years ago around a Sony 5-disc CD/DVD/SACD player a Pioneer VSX-D814 Receiver and the Wharfedale 70+ Surround Speaker System. Once the Pioneer receiver blew up (kaboom) I knew it was time to upgrade the entire system. Two components down (Receiver & DVD Player) and two to go (Speakers and Screen)
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Music, Movies, Audio Equipment, Photography
