tekno.mage 's Corvotech Rig System
Last Update: November 24, 2006 at 14:51:05 IP Address: 217.147.80.105
Amplifier: Various Yamaha, Aiwa & several PA amps
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Various mixers
Speakers: 2 x Tannoy Cheviots, 1 x Tannoy Eaton, various smaller Tannoy Dual Concentrics, plus home built PA stack & 18" Sub
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Er, there's a CD walkman somewhere & a big Yamaha thing - hardly used
Turntable/Phono Stage: 2 x Technics SL1210 MKII with Ortofon Scratch carts - and an Alice Phonopak pro RIAA preamp, balanced output.
Other Source(s): Tascam HD-P2 digital recorder, Mac G5 (sometimes), horrid ipod thing, various test equipment, a measuring mic. And an FM tuner.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: All genuinely home made by myself. Trying to use balanced throughout where poss.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Behringer Active Xover x 2, Splitter/Combiner x 3, couple of graphics
Tweaks: Many and various. If it breaks I fix it, if it doesn't do what I want, I modify it.
Room Size (LxWxH): 6m x 5m x 2,5m
Room Comments/Treatments: Stone walls, stone floor. Thick rug and velvet curtains added. Helps a bit.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Dance music, folk music, electronic music, rock music, a bit of classical. Don't like jazz, country or easy listening.
System Goals/Comments: Mostly built up out of junk people threw away, things I fixed and just a few items bought new. In total cost very little.
System Strengths: Amazing dynamic range due to 3/4-way split. Very loud & clean all the way (126db @ 1m) under right circumstances
System Weaknesses: Amount of space it takes up, plus becoming a cabling nightmare - but heh, you can never have too many amps or too many speakers.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Old CRT-type TV, hardly ever used, not connected to the audio kit at all - kept in a back room.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Graphic design, art, needlework, make do & mend stuff.
