Daverz's Living Room System
IP Address: Last Update: October 23, 2023 at 20:47:06
Amplifier: Bryston 3B-SST
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Volume is controlled in the digital domain.
Speakers: Buchardt S400 (white)

SVS 1000 Pro subwoofer
CD Player/DAC: Raspberry Pi 4 connected via USB to an Motu M4 audio interface. The Motu has 4 analog outputs (either RCA or TRS). Outputs #1 & #2 are used for the subwoofer, and #3 & #4 are connected to the amp and speakers. The Pi does all the routing and crossover for the 2.1 system using CamillaDSP.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Who cares?
Room Comments/Treatments: The room is an irregularly shaped second floor living/dining room with attached kitchen, vaulted ceilings from 11-19' high, and an open loft.

Some Auralex panels on the wall, a couple Echo Buster panels, 2 EchoBuster Bass Busters, and a couple wool blankets draped here and there.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Mostly classical (orchestral and chamber music, and mostly late Classical to mid 20th Century), and some 70s/80s pop music.

60s-80s rock/pop and new wave. I like a nice tune and a good lick. Beatles or Stones man? Beatles, but even closer: the Kinks.

Jazz (still exploring)
System Goals/Comments: Analog sources must make coherent sense of and get the most music out of often mediocre vinyl. As much of a sense of the original acoustic space must be reproduced as possible. Warm string tone, clear and articulate midrange, non-muddy bass. But the electricity of hard rock music must not be sacrificed.
System Strengths: Wide, deep, dimensional soundstage. Scary deep and accurate bass (and no EQ set yet!) Detail without brightness. Neutrality.
System Weaknesses: The Buchardt's are missing the bottom octave.

Not a system weakness, but there is too much street noise leaking into the room.
Video/HT System: None
TV/Projector: Banished from the listening room.
