Room Comments/Treatments: Room responses auto EQ'ed with the Behr and the curves tweaked by yours truly. I've got sets of DEQ curves for my bedroom, my living room, and my cans. Home brewed room treatments plus careful placement of furniture and artwork.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Swedish, Irish, Bluegrass, Classical Fiddlin' (what I play). Trip hop and ethno techno.
System Goals/Comments: When I listen to my system playing fiddles, I want to hear out of them what I hear under my ear when I'm playing. Makes for a sound that non-players find different at first but quickly like (or at least so I've been told). The electronic music I listen to only through my cans, I live in an apartment and satisfactory bass and beats through my speakers would get me evicted.
System Strengths: Acoustic music: classical, folk, jazz, etc.
System Weaknesses: Most other kinds of music. This system is specifically tailored play to the music I play. The Maggies have a very small sweet spot, I listen to them in a "God's Headphones" near field configuration. Fantastic in the sweet spot and only very good elsewhere.
Video/HT System: None
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Serious (I gig & I teach) Irish, Scandinavian, and classical fiddling.
