Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classical, Jazz, eclectic acoustic
System Goals/Comments: As close to the live unamplified performance as possible. As my system has improved, I find that I enjoy more kinds of music.
System Strengths: Overall presentation is reasonably well balanced. Orions are very fast and can play loud with very low distortion.
System Weaknesses: My room shape is suboptimal. Still, imaging is reasonably good.
Video/HT System: Integrated
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Pioneer VSX-1014TX-K
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Sub = VMPS New Original Sub (amp is nothing special 500w plate amp), Rears = JBL L-77s, phantom center channel
Comments on HT System: I'm much more serious about music than HT, so my HT system is pretty ad-hoc. Nevertheless, the sound I get for movies is quite nice.
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: skiing, sailing. Retired
