Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Dynaco PAS 3 (Tube)
Hafler DH 110 (Hand-wired kit)
Speakers: Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble III 3pc Satellite system

Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II 100watt 8 inch powered subwoofer

Realistic MC5 2-way bookshelf spkrs; these have been re-drivered with RadioShack spkrs using 8 inch poly-cone woofers and 2 inch piezo tweeters using the original x-over. They really sound quite nice.

Room Size (LxWxH): 21' x 21' x 8'
Room Comments/Treatments: The room is our designated "media room" in our home. A place to set up the home theater and also provide a home for my continually expanding vinyl collection and eclectic hodgepodge of obtuse Hifi and pro gear. The room is a "bonus room" over our garage and as such has a gambrel-type ceiling (it has the barn look to it). During construction of the home I added additional wall insulation and prewired for home theater surround speakers. There is carpet on the floor.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Classic 60's/70's Pop & Rock & folk (the stuff I grew up with)
New stuff by the "old guys"
System Goals/Comments: I am quite happy with the system as it is right now. Most of my equipment is vintage or getting that way, either good quality pieces made in the USA or Japan. My system is actually two seperate systems; one as a home theater setup and the other to enjoy listening to LPs and transferring/restoring them to CD. I have far too much equipment; one of my goals is to simplify the setup.
System Strengths: I like the sound of my system. Lots of things to play with.

System Weaknesses: Too many things to play with
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Hitachi 51F59 Rear Projection TV
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Yamaha HTR-5550 (Home Theater Reciever):
75W RMS/Ch x 5
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble III
Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II 100 watt 8 inch powered subwoofer
Sources (DVD/VCR): Toshiba SD-2109 DVD Player
Panasonic DMR-ES20 DVR
JVC HR-S7800U VCR
Other HT Gear: Video Labs Video Scaler Pro Up-Scan converter: One of my all time best eBay scores. This is pro gear used to convert any broadcast standard to any other standard. It is also *very* useful when dubbing some old VHS tapes to DVD.
Comments on HT System: Quite happy with my system. The RPT Hitachi I bought brand new about a year ago; picture is fantastic for this type of TV. I am not satisfied with the crop of unproven TV technology (Plasma, LCD, DPL). All are way too expensive and have no longevity record.
