Amplifier:	Marantz 2230 receiver, SS, 30 wpc. Fully restored in September 2008 and on its way to another 35 years of use.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated):	none
Speakers:	Dynaco A-25; recapped (Obbligato), rehabbed in DIY replacement cabinets (original cabinets were trashed when I found them outside of a dumpster). Situated in a wall-length bookcase, decoupled from the cabinets with little bits of birch ply.

Turntable/Phono Stage:	Thorens TD 150 Mk II Phono section of Marantz and sometimes an external Musical Fidelity XLPS V3 phono stage. Usually an Empire 600 LAC or Stanton 681SE.
Other Source(s):	Tuner section of Marantz with a BIC Beam Box FM-10 (directional FM Antenna). NAD 6340 cassette deck.

Speaker Cables/Interconnects:	Mogami 3082 speaker cables; Mogami 2549 and Technics interconnects. Switchcraft and Eichmann plugs.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.):	ARI Triple Play rack, spiked through the carpet and pad to the concrete floor. Monster Reference PowerCenter HTS 2500 MKII.

Room Comments/Treatments:	It's a basement recreation room with a couple walls of books, carpet, upholstered furniture, my son's HO model train layout, a TV, a big stone fireplace, a table for board games, and a small bar. It is adjacent to my utility/work room and a "hobby room" for my spouse.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections):	The receiver is on around the clock, set to NPR, oldies, or our kids' favorite FM stations.
System Goals/Comments:	To play LPs and cassettes or listen to FM while reading with a fire in the fireplace or just hanging out.
System Strengths:	Good synergy, verve, and tone. Surprising bass to the mid/upper 30s. The music comes through nicely. Blue Marantz lights :)
System Weaknesses:	While the speakers function quite nicely as intended (located in a bookcase), I'd like to hear them in this room while on proper stands. I'd like to replace the surprisingly good FM10 Beam Box with an outdoor antenna.

Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation:	I enjoy sharing my family's interests, family travel, woodworking, chess, reading; attending concerts, poetry readings, and art galleries...gardening...time with friends...and my vintage BMW auto.
