GCP's Main System
IP Address: 24.163.116.42 Last Update: October 17, 2017 at 05:17:22
Amplifier: Rogue Audio Atlas Magnum
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): Rogue Audio RP-1
Speakers: Magnepan MMG, KEF LS50 in rotation
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Pioneer Elite PD-65
Emotiva XDA-1 DAC
Turntable/Phono Stage: Pioneer PLX-1000/Ortofon 2M Blue
Other Source(s): MacBook Pro
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: A bunch of Monster stuff I scored dirt-cheap back when I worked at one of the now-defunct big electronics retailers years ago. Not much of a cable guy, sorry.
Tweaks: Hendrick's gin martinis
Room Comments/Treatments: Room isn't ideal, but it's mine. Living alone has its advantages, like putting your speakers wherever they sound best, decor be damned...
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz, classical, rock
System Goals/Comments: It plays music.
System Strengths: Giving the Maggies and KEFs the space they crave lets them throw a pretty awesome stage. Rogue definitely has the muscle that they like.
System Weaknesses: It doesn't make martinis.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Some big Vizio
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Denon AVR 1612
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Andrew Jones Pioneer sp-bs22's all around.
Stoopid-good speakers for the price. Wish I still had my old DefTech BP2000's for movies, though...
2 matching Pioneer AJ subs, wired so I can also run them with the Maggies when I want a little more kick. Definitely the weak link of the AJ line.
Sources (DVD/VCR): Sony Blu-ray/SACD player
Comments on HT System: Room doesn't allow a great HT setup, but movies are still fun and as loud as I want them to be
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: Road and Mountain biking, kayaking. Teaching myself to play guitar
