System Goals/Comments: | Work horse for everyday XM listening and CD listening. Can leave the Amp on all the time in Standby mode and the CD player too. |
System Strengths: | Very detailed sound. Reasonably strong, and detailed bass -- at times, i.e., when it's in the recording. XM satellite is quite good sounding -- not harsh or bright, and quite detailed. |
System Weaknesses: | Highs can be sharp at times, such as female voices can sound like they are shrieking, but only with certain singers and songs -- due to the amp being somewhat harsh. However, this is mitigated by pairing the amp with a mellow sounding CD player and the XM tuner, as satellite radio is generally mellow sounding -- never bright. Actually, FM radio broadcasts are never bright too. Not that I have FM with my tuner, but FM in general is not bright (or detailed either). |
