Music Preferences and Comments: | |
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | Love (almost) ALL forms music. From early favorites to Classic Rock to Punk to Hardcore: Reggae, Ska, Mod, Alternative, World, R&B, Classical, Jazz, Acoustic, Vocals (especially female). Some Country. If it moves me, it groves me! Please keep the Rap and Opera for youeself! |
System Goals/Comments: | Looking to replace the phono stage, possibly with a Graham Slee Era Gold Mk V. Room treament and isolation accessories |
System Strengths: | Just plain musical! Deep, wide and precise sound stage. Exceptionally revealing. Extremely transparent and articulate mids and highs with surprisingly deep and controlled bass. Whom ever said ML’s don’t do bass never teamed them with a Krell. Any more bass would be unnatural (like a teenagers car stereo) |
System Weaknesses: | Need room Treatments to overcome some mid-bass bloom. Just moved, did not have it in previous home. System to articulate to rock out with excessive SPL’s but does just fine if you don’t try to make your ears bleed. Will reveal flawed recordings, unforgiving. |

Other HT Gear: | Pioneer RFD-1 RF demodulator. Technics LP-1200 w/Ortifon OM20 stylus. |
Comments on HT System: | Some of my HT equipment is old but is still going strong! In fact, my 20 year old son who has the audio bug is always disappointed when he comes back from an audio store! He always asks “Why doesn’t Polk still make the SDA’s. I want speakers that rock like yours!” And he’s auditioned some great speakers like the PSB Synchrony line, Klipsch Klipschorn & La Scala, Def Tech's top line, Monitor, Vandersteen, NHT etc. When I want to really “rock out” at mind numbing levels, it’s this system that does the job! |
Other Interests/Hobbies/Occupation: | Audio, Video, Music (Love ALL music except for Rap and Opera), SCUBA Diving, Motorcycles, Sports (most) and much more. |
