Amplifier: Modified Zenith 5B30 console integrated amp. SEP with EL84s driven by a single 12AX7. 5Y3GT rectifier. Modified for standalone use. Replaced all caps. IEC power connector with built-in EMI/RF filtering, semi-star grounding, new RCA inputs and speaker binding posts.
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): none
Speakers: E-V Wolverine LT-12 coaxials in open baffle

CD Player/DAC: iPod 3rd Gen.
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Radio Shack interconnects and 18ga. zip cord.
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Hospital-grade AC cord.
Tweaks: Orange drop caps the decoupling and feedback. Panasonic signal caps originally from a Bottlehead SEX amp. Lots of tubes to choose from. Various british, german, dutch and american tubes to roll.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Jazz and ambient, prog rock, classical.
System Goals/Comments: Found the console for free. Removed the amp and switched it from piezo phono to line-in, removed the tone controls and phono pre/EQ.
System Strengths: very straight forward sound. Tube rollable with EL84s and 12AX7s.
System Weaknesses: Low level hum. Almost disappears when music is playing. Probably magnetic induction hum.
